Breaking In a New Acrylic Brush
New acrylic brushes often have a protective coating on the bristles from manufacturing. Before first use, soak the bristles gently in monomer for a few minutes and wipe clean with a lint-free wipe to remove any residue. This conditions the bristles and prepares them for product. Do not use water on an acrylic brush as this can damage the bristles and affect performance.
Care and Maintenance
After every use, wipe the brush clean with monomer on a lint-free wipe. Never use acetone to clean an acrylic brush as it will dry out and damage the bristles permanently. Reshape the tip after cleaning and store flat or upright with the cap on. A well-maintained acrylic brush can last years of professional daily use.
