Unlike metal nail drill bits which can be sterilized, sanding bands have a porous abrasive surface that cannot be fully disinfected after use. Using a fresh band for each client is the professional hygiene standard. Replace during a service when the band becomes clogged with product dust and the abrasive efficiency drops noticeably.
